- What it should say, spelled exactly as you want it
- Rough size, or where it will hang or sit
- The date you need it by
- A photo or sketch, if you have one

Keeping your board looking good
- Wipe it with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Never soak it or put it in the dishwasher.
- Keep it out of long periods of direct sun, which fades the wood.
- Store it flat and away from heaters, so it does not warp.
- If the finish looks dull after a few years, a thin coat of paste wax brings it back.
